St.Dom Students Build a Greenhouse

St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School students in the Specialist High Skills Major Construction program built a greenhouse for the organization Morrison Meadows in Bracebridge, ON.

Morrison Meadows is a 35 acre farm and an outdoor recreational space for the community. It is a place where individuals with developmental disabilities are seen as capable, friendly, teachers, partners and community leaders.

Local farmers in Bracebridge teach these individuals about farming and assist with the preparation of the fields for planting vegetables each spring. The crops yield an abundance of produce and it is sold to local merchants and members of the community.

The newly built greenhouse will provide a space for community gardens to flourish. These gardens are sold to members of the community to grow their own vegetables.
Big thanks to St. Dominic Specialist High Skills Major students for providing this community with a brand new growing space.
